Sonido

The Sonido is a device designed to help people sleep better by using active noise cancelling technology. The device consists of two microphone units that record ambient sound and a speaker unit that uses active noise cancelling to cancel out the ambient noise, creating a more peaceful sleep environment. The project was developed during a minor course called Technology Based Entrepreneurship, where students from various fields of study came together in groups of five to create innovative solutions to real-world problems. With the goal of improving people's sleep, the team designed and developed the Sonido, focusing on creating a simple and effective solution to help people sleep more soundly.

Design

We aimed for a final design that would seamlessly blend into the bedroom environment without drawing too much attention. The speaker unit and microphones are mounted to the head of the bed, keeping the device out of the way and discreet. We opted for a minimalist design with a neutral colour palette to ensure that the device wouldn't clash with the bedroom decor.

The Sonido is built with three main components: two microphone units and a speaker unit. The microphone units record ambient sound and send it to the speaker unit, which uses active noise cancelling technology to cancel out the noise. The speaker unit also houses Sonido's controls, including volume and power buttons.

We wanted to create a modern and sleek advertisement that would convey the simplicity and effectiveness of the Sonido. Our inspiration drew from the style of Apple ads, which often feature a clean and simple white background, allowing the product to take centre stage. By adopting a similar approach, we hoped to intrigue the viewer and encourage them on finding out more about the product.
